We encourage participation from any researcher in theoretical chemistry broadly defined (from the traditional subfields of electronic structure theory, chemical dynamics, and statistical mechanics to emerging fields in computational chemistry, molecular biophysics, and materials science). The symposium is catered primarily to researchers in Southern California institutions but it does not exclude participants from outside the region who for any reason wish to attend. Researchers ranging from undergraduate students all the way to PIs are welcome.
Symposium attendees may participate as listeners or as poster presenters. For the latter, there will be a two-hour poster session which will culminate with awards for three graduate students and three postdoctoral fellows. The first prize of each group will have the honor of giving the last two talks of the symposium based on their posters. We encourage PIs who are not poster presenters to volunteer as judges for the poster event. They may indicate this interest when filling the registration form.
IMPORTANT NOTE TO POSTER PRESENTERS: Make sure to also bring a copy of your poster in a flash drive (PDF or PPT) so that you can present it in case you are chosen as a winner of the poster session.
With the exception of invited speakers, all attendees (listeners and poster presenters) must complete the registration form by September 15, 2024 in order to facilitate the count of participants.
Since this one-day event is primarily targeted to researchers affiliated to institutions in Southern California, neither transportation nor accommodation will be provided. However, breakfast, lunch, and refreshments throughout the day will be provided (see preliminary schedule).
